A press release is issued announcing certification as a member. The press release is sent directly to the member for distribution to appropriate publications.  Many general newspapers and legal publications throughout the country have published articles (ranging from business news to lengthy feature articles) concerning members.  In addition to submitting the press release to legal and general publications, many members make other uses of the press release such as sending copies to clients and referring attorneys, publishing copies on firm web pages, etc. (as allowed by Rules of Professional Conduct applicable in members' jurisdictions).

The following are samples of press releases issued to new members.  Content varies dependent upon contact, biographical and practice information stated in the membership application.  Million Dollar Advocates Forum exercises editorial discretion regarding statements of members' areas of practice or specialty in order to conform with the professional standards of the organization.

PRESS RELEASE - current members / recent cases
$600 (which may include up to three recent cases)

Many members have requested that we offer press releases for current members (in addition to the release issued when membership was approved) announcing recent settlements, awards and verdicts obtained after becoming a member.  Such releases may be distributed to appropriate publications, posted to firm websites, sent to clients or referring attorneys, or otherwise used as may be consistent with applicable rules of professional conduct.  We are now offering such releases, as follows:

• In order for us to announce such cases, we must have similar information concerning the case as is required for initial membership qualification.  Therefore, a form must be completed and signed by the member similar to the membership application form with regard to any such case. The member must certify, as a member of the Bar, that the case information is correct and may be relied upon by MDAF in preparing such a press release.

• Included cases must have been completed this year or last year (no earlier than January 1, of last year) to qualify as "recent".

• Specific case information such as party names and case facts will not be included (MDAF is not a verdict & settlement reporting service).  In distributing the release, members may choose to make such additional information available to recipients, but shall not state or imply that such information is part of the MDAF press release. 

• All use of such press releases must be in compliance with rules of professional conduct which may apply in the member's jurisdiction(s).

• Similar to new member press releases, MDAF will not include self-laudatory expressions or other accomplishments which are not objective.  Generally, the press release will include

               - case type, year, jurisdiction and result
               - a description of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum
               - the member's name, contact information, firm name and law school
               - the member's specialty or areas of practice
               - firm areas of practice, website and locations
               - state Bar specialty certification, if applicable to member

• The press release will be provided to the member, who may then distribute it as appropriate.  This may include distribution to legal or general publications, clients, referring attorneys, posting to firm websites or otherwise as may be consistent with rules of professional conduct applicable in the member's jurisdiction.

• Press releases will be prepared and sent within approximately two weeks of receipt of request from member. 

• The release will be provided to the member as a .pdf file and sent by email. The member may then print or otherwise reproduce the release.  Upon request, a printed copy will also be sent by postal mail.

• Multiple Cases:  members may include up to 3 qualifying cases in a press release.  If more than three cases are included, there is an a charge of $200 per additional case to be reviewed and included in the release.

• Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum members will be designated as such, and their press release shall include the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum logo.

• Multiple MDAF Members in Single Release:  It is possible for MDAF to issue a single Press Release on behalf of several MDAF members of the same firm regarding their recent cases (including only firm cases in which a MDAF member was principal counsel).  If interested in such a release, please contact us.
